First of all, thanks a million to everyone who made the Preview Sale a big success! What a wonderful, warm welcome for Knitcircus Yarns.
Saturday, bright and early found me and Belle heading to beloved Local Yarn Store The Sow’s Ear for the outdoor craft fair. Debra had tables all set up for us, so we spread our wares under a rainbow-colored umbrella with our bright-pink tablecloth. Many lovely Sow’s Ear/Knitting Guild friends stopped by, and the Sow’s Ear Italian sodas helped a lot when the sun made the afternoon toasty.
I didn’t snap any photos of our booth, but of course, since it was a yarn-themed craft fair, I did find delightful things to take home…
Hard to see in this picture, but the yarn base here is sparkly! Sow’s Ear ladies Liz and Heather each have their own yarn lines; Lotus Cat offers beautifully-curated subtle shades (the apricot I chose was, of course, the brightest hue) and The Knitted Brow has lovely handpaints in many shades. Available only at The Sow’s Ear, so make sure to look for them if you’re in the area!
Amy is a woman of many talents, and she was offering custom-made sterling earrings; yarn balls with crystals! What knitter wouldn’t love these? Belle picked out special colors for mine.
Apparently, I have a weakness for flower-shaped things, evidenced by this tiny tray and buttons from Jenny Blasen pottery.
The tray is a bit hard to see, because it was immediately pressed into service to hold Li’l Buddy’s Flattened Things collection. Some ideas for using the little buttons have started percolating in my mind…big surprise, I’m thinking about hats and cowls. 😉
Knitting this weekend: during the fair, I worked on a new pattern using Knitcircus Yarn, Malabrigo worsted in the Harvest Gradient.
Can’t wait to share it with you!
On Sunday, I have a new rule that all knitting is for family, otherwise my poor kids wouldn’t have any handknits! Unfortunately, I spent the day down with a stomach bug, so my entire output was this:
A Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi cupcake hardly bigger than a blackberry for my Belle. Luckily, feeling better this morning and ready for more knitting adventures.
Hope you all had an excellent weekend,
