Balm to the Soul: Works-in-Progress

Image

The Original Balm to the Soul Shawlette was so much fun to work; I just cast on and started going on a bus trip home from Yarn Con Chicago.

Now it’s got a little sister, in lilac

Their best friend is a version made for knitting in class; you get to the interesting parts much sooner!

Once you get the first repeat, you just do it again until you run out of yarn…

Now a fourth version, the Balm to the Soul, Right to the Lace, is on the needles:

And, not pictured, an infant cousin in fingering weight, for those who like their shawls lightweight and larger in size.

Feedback from students is helping tremendously to change up and refine this pattern and its teaching, and I can’t wait to see where we go next! I suspect an e-book is in the works….If you’ve taken the class and want updates on the different versions as they come out, just shoot me an email and I’ll send them your way.

Speaking of which, here’s a freshly Finished Object from one of the students. Way to go, Ginger!

Speaking of classes, Susan B Anderson has a great peek into the Toy of Your Choice Class she’s teaching at the Knitcircus Retreat on April 14th. Both those patterns are so adorable, I want to take it myself!

  1. Interesting pattern without being to busy, to “lacey”. I have to add it to my Ravelry list. I believe I have the perfect fingering weight yarn coming too 🙂
