Acclaimed designer and author Laura Nelkin will be featured with and article on and patterns showcasing beaded knitting in the Knitcircus Gifts issue, coming out October 12th.  Jump start your gifts knitting with a look at some of Laura's new designs and chance to win her book and a kit!

Laura says:

Adorn is a collection of knitted jewelry designs. Patterns will be released once a month, starting with May's pattern, Ribband and ending in December. There will also be two surprises, for a total of 10 designs. These are great projects to get you playing with beads, to make as gifts, to keep in your purse for portable knitting projects, and most importantly, to get you started on creating a beads stash (if you don't have one already!

She's released five designs already, with five more yet to come!

Laura says:

A striking garter stitch necklace, Butin requires only 20 yards of fingering weight yarn and is SO EASY you can make one in a night!  Beads are simply slipped up to form a “swag” of texture at the center of the piece.  This is knitted beaded jewelry at it’s easiest!

  1. Usually knitted or crocheted jewelry leaves something to be desired, what my mom calls the “TLC” look, but these are lovely and sophisticated designs, up to date and in style!

  5. I really like her crochet butin, but I do not yet crochet. I also like her pattern for the Slipster. I have been wanting to try beading and knitting so this would be exciting to win!
