Name That Yarn Contest
The generous Hasmi Ferguson of Rocky Mountain Dyeworks is letting our readers name one of her new Luxe yarn bases–not just the color, but the yarn itself!
The Lace Weight contains 70% Baby Alpaca, 30% silk and runs 800 meters/appx. 870 yds per skein.
Entries will be evaluated by Hasmi, who will choose the Grand Prize winner.
The winner will receive a skein of the now-named yarn, two stitch markers from Rocky Mountain Dyeworks and a Rocky Mountain Dyeworks t-shirt!
Two runners-up will receive a Knitcircus Subscription (5 issues) for herself or a friend and a Rocky Mountain Dyeworks t-shirt.
Study the photos here, and imagine you're holding the smooth base with alpaca halo laceweight in your hands. Close your eyes and transport yourself to the US or Canadian Rockies; look around and see what draws you in. Which natural setting would make you want to take up your needles and paint it in yarn?
Then email your response, a title and short explanation, to: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also ravmessage jaaladay or tweet to Knitcircus.
Contest runs today through Friday at 5 Central US time.
Hasmi says: My yarns are all named after favourite or evocative locations in the Rocky Mountains. So far I've used names that are close to home but I am branching out to include all of the Rockies across North America.
