Apples and Alice

September apple branches

Labor Day turned out to be a perfect mild and cloudy fall day, so we all piled in the minivan for apple picking at Appleberry Farm.

It's not far out of town, with a nice relaxed vibe.

Shown here, Macintosh (and my foot, keeping the bag from falling over): we also came home with bags of Cortland, Empire and Jonamac. There will be Crisp tonight!

In Knitcircus news, we've got a big giveaway for you: the winner receives an original hardcover of Alice Starmore's Fair Isle Knitting!

To enter to win, you need to cast on a new Knitcircus project, or show
us pics of your knits-in-progress. They can be from any Knitcircus, past or present. We’re going to use points, so if you’ve already got a
finished project up in Ravelry, that’s one, cast on a new project and
put it up on Ravelry, that’s two, worked half the project, three, and
started and finished a project for the contest, four points. Each point
is like a raffle ticket: a chance to win (if you designed the project,
your sample doesn’t count)! There will be other prizes, too, like
books, yarn and KC subscriptions, and we’ll draw the winners on the September 29th.

Good luck and have fun! Can't wait to see what everyone knits…
