Summer’s Last Hurrah

Yesterday we celebrated the Last Day of Summer (school started today) with a trip to Devil's Lake. The kids and their good friend led us right up the tumbled rocks, and Mike and I couldn't quite believe it, but we ended up going all the way to the top! Luckily, at the top we found a trail to take us back down, kind of like a magic rock stairway. Whew! I was a starting to have visions of someone twisting their ankle, or breaking another arm scrambling down. We took the car ferry across the river, ate ice cream, swam in the lake, and were very happy to see the drinking fountain after our big hike. Family fun, check.

So today we have our Knitcircus Ravelry Group winner, kizmet! Yay! She's getting a nice hunk of Happy Hands Merino 560 yarn to make the Autumn Leaves Cowl and Hat from the Fall Knitcircus.

How about some bonus photos from Fall? Since it is officially school time now…

  1. I remember going up to Devil’s Lake last summer. And we went down that same rock “trail”…in the rain. I slipped a couple of times and could hardly walk the next week or so.
It’s hard to believe school is starting up again!
