Issue #5, that is. We had an Ice Cream Shop photoshoot last weekend with our favorite models and the pics turned out quite well.
Here's a quick look at my designs for this issue:
Crocus Bud Handwarmers–for when you're ready for spring!Yarn: Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino.
Ooh-la-la Legwarmers. Yarn: Berroco Pronto.
Vanilla Twist Hat. Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted Merino.
You can see project previews for #5 here and pre-order here. It's just bursting with knitting patterns, and I really think it's going to be the best effort yet. Ms SABLE is maneuvering the layout now to try to fit everything in…
I had my birthday yesterday, and it truly was one of the best birthdays ever. Mike took the kids to the store and they got me many presents, all individually wrapped, and they all turned out to be my favorite things to eat. I'm one of the few and proud, to open up a package with a yellow pepper in it, and another with pomegranate juice! In fact, I'm drinking some of that juice right now.
In the evening, Mom and Dad made one of my favorite meals–Chablis Chicken (Mom's recipe, cooked by Dad) and German Chocolate Cake!!!! Mom and I have had this cake for our birthdays forever, and it's a labor of love to prepare–and a luxury to eat.
But, speaking of a labor of love, wait until you see the present my mom made me!
A Knitcitcus Pennant Banner!!!!
Isn't it amazing? Each letter is different, incorporating canvas paper, scrapbook paper, ribbons, pompoms, you name it.
Here's a close-up:
My mom stood with me as I looked at this display for a long time. It was the perfect present. Can't wait to take some more pics (maybe a new blog banner?) and hang it up in my studio.
So many reasons I feel lucky in life–I definitely felt loved and remembered on my birthday. I think it's gonna be a good year.
