Knitcircus Podcast #20
In which Jaala knits the goofiest mitten ever, Amy reconstructs the perfect yoke and in breaking news: babies; so cute! It’s like we have a genetic imperative to knit for them.
Mentioned this podcast:
The Knitter’s Handy Book of Sweater Patterns
Comfort Knitting and Crochet for Babies and Toddlers
Shades of Winter: Knitting with Natural Wool
Jaala says: I was totally wrong about the Mitts Romney Group on Ravelry; it’s called Mitt’s Mittens, and is not in favor of the candidate, but you can find like-minded folks in these Ravelry Groups: GOP Knitters and Knitters for Barack Obama. Whomever you support, we urge you to get informed, and to vote!
I loved the podcast and the list of new books, etc. !
So I was reading the latest newsletter–the interview with The Sexy Knitter. And I’m curious about that Lady Sybil Jumpsuit. But it’s not listed on Ravelry! Is it slated for an upcoming publication perhaps?
Thank you for the podcast, I love to listen. Some info you may have already found out but that I wanted to share is: Jim Dale reads the US version of the Harry Potter books and Stephen Fry reads the UK version. Jo Rowling pronounces ‘Voldemort’ in the French manner, so Jim started off correctly. Stephen’s pronunciation may have influenced him. Personally, I prefer the Stephen Fry version. I don’t know why we can’t realise that our kids are smart enough to work out what a butter beer cork is and not need it translated to a cap!
Jukkasjarvi is a place in Sweden and if you replace the ‘j’s with ‘y’s and swallow the ‘s’ you will be close!
